The holidays are coming up, and, just like other years, I’m looking at my New Year’s resolutions. The problem is that some will be an exact copy of the ones made in the previous year, and even the year before that.
It’s not that I don’t want to change things as it relates to my health and self-care. It just seems that I’ve been blaming all of my other responsibilities for not doing the work. If there’s a way to avoid doing what has to be done, I’ll find it.
So, I would like to find out what it is that’s blocking my motivation to make the necessary changes. How can I shift the mood so that these are seen as positive goals and not things I’m trying to avoid?

I was married twelve years before discovering his affairs—both in our own bed, MY bed. The divorce is final, but the fury lingers. I’m so tired of being angry, of carrying him in my rage. I don’t know how to stop—only that I want my heart back from it.
How do I move on from here? How can I possibly forgive the unforgivable?

I have been a caregiver for over a decade. And they say that if you do something for a thousand hours, you’ll become proficient. Well, I did my thousand hours and then some.
Now the person that I cared for is gone, and has been for over a year. I just don’t remember how to be ME anymore. Everything I wanted I put on the backburner.) Now the whole stove is mine, but I feel I’ve forgotten what I like, or even how to cook. All metaphorically of course,
So my question is: How do I recover my purpose and my sense of self?

My part-time job that I took to help make ends meet feels like it’s taking up all my spare time, while still only giving me a part-time paycheck. I love my job, but I feel like I spend more time dealing with my current job than I did when I worked full-time. Should I be looking for a new job?

I’m writing a serial. The first episode introduced the characters and situation: they’ve been kidnapped so that they can take part in a dangerous race, where if they lose, they’ll never get home. But because of back-end Reasons, the race can’t happen until episode 3. Any ideas what I can put in Episode Two that will keep folks on the edge of their seats until then?
