Spreads

Three spreads are represented here. The top left there are three cards in a single column, labeled 1 through 3 from left to right. To the right of that is a 3-card spread in a single vertical line, numbered 1 through three from top to bottom. In the lower left, there is a 3-card spread in the shape of a triangle. #1 is the top of the triangle. #2 is the lower left corner of the triangle. #3 is the lower right corner of the triangle.

Because the Compass Spread has three extra cards added, we thought we’d share some three-card spreads.  These types of spreads are a good way to practice reading and are also great for a quick reading. There are many kinds of three-card spreads.

Begin Again

A great way to review the pros and cons of a job or career

There is a grid of 4 cards across and 3 cards down, totalling 12 cards. To the right of the grid on the center row, there is one more card.

Calendar Spread

This spread can be done as a three-month, a six-month, or a full year. Each card represents a month.

The Character’s Mirror

Great for developing a character’s core motivations and wounds.

Compass Spread with 3 Card Extra

This is Judie’s favorite spread when using the Voyager Deck. It is a combination of two spreads:
a 5-card Compass Spread, with an Influence/Obstacle/Outcome 3-card spread.

Compatibility Spread

This spread is used to help you decide if you are compatible with another person. It can be read for romance, sexual-only, friendship, working together, or any other kind of person-to-person relationship.

The Fighter

This spread is great for when you’ve been knocked down and are ready to get back up again. Or you’re recovering from heartbreak. Or looking for a good character arc.

Developed to give an overview of a story’s elements, this spread covers such ideas as a mentor, villain, obstacle and theme for a story.

This is a spread Judie and Miri developed together to help find guidance along a certain life path.
