The Question:
I have a cousin, who my mom dotes on. This cousin always has a sob story about how everything is going wrong for her, but only spends time with our family when she needs money. And she is completely taking advantage of my mom’s kindness and generosity. It’s my mom’s money, of course, and she can do whatever she wants with it. I’m worried that what she wants will lead to my cousin spending all of my mom’s hard-earned retirement fund, and that my mom will have nothing left in the last years of her life.
